Can't Comstar be an option too?  I would have to vote Lyran otherwise. Would want to go to the Nagelring, best of the best baby! Besides who wouldn't want to start their career out scouting...in an Atlas? |

I guess I will throw my lot in with the Dragon. At least they have bushido and some sense of honor. They even fought the Clans one on one for awhile, and caught the Smoke Jaguars with their pants down fair and square on Wolcott.

I enjoy the fractious nature of the Free Worlds League, and the Camacho's Caballeros in the novels. I find the so-called "Trinity of Southwestern Worlds" on the League's edge of the Periphery rather endearing.

I dunno, they're all pretty corrupt no? As someone from a poor background I'd imagine my life wouldn't be great in any of them, although the FWL seem like the least bad?

I concur, for all their infighting the FWL are actually the most free, and it isn't mentioned much but have a rather health economy rated just after the Lyran's. They lack some more advanced technically knowledge (like NAIS), production centers (like Steiner), the militarism in the culture of the (FS and DC) and the bad shit crazy of the Liao's, but manage to hold their own all the same (even with all the infighting!). Sure all the states are corrupt, every world probably has its own levels of corruption and dog eat dog politics, but the FWL does seem to offer a lot of advantages and is less of a target (other than to each other) of foreign powers.
If Comstar instead of the WoB pitched their tent in the FWL it would have given them a huge boost, technical knowledge, production, extra military/trading/training, minus the bat shit crazy of the Liao's and WoB.

I prefer the erindani light horse personally, but to pick a great house to support I would probably go with house davion since they have helped advance the battle armor front and used the combined arms doctrines.
