So surrounding the main Hall of Khans are halls or chambers for each of the individual Clans. What was the fate of these halls for Clans that were abjured, annihilated, etc.? What happens to the genetic legacies of abjured or annihilated clans if such repositories or collections of genetic material were captured?

Just a guess, but I would assume those that were absorbed, became the property of the clan that did so. For example Clan Widowmaker was absorbed by Clan Wolf, with the story of Natasha Kerensky being of a mixed DNA with them. The unnamed clan (Clan Wolverine), would probably have been completely removed (and the genetics destroyed), but with the clans overall hatred of waste, I would think they made it into something else, and not destroyed it. Perhaps just a lounge, storage space, etc?

With the wars of reeving aren't there only four or five home clans left on Strana Mechty? That is a whole lot of empty halls to be repurposed then.

Even if it is wasteful I would leave them empty as a reminder to everyone else (to me that isn't wasteful). They are only halls in one building after all.

I think I read somewhere that the Ghost Bears stripped their hall clean before they left.

I like to think after the war of reaving that the home clans really just didn't hold a grand counsel any more and the whole process of ilkhan was abolished. You would think after all the losses they suffered some major societal changes were in order and each surviving Clan would adopt their own versions of Kerensky's vision at this point.

I think I read somewhere one of the authors mentioned it should have been turned into a Kerensky Museum of sorts. I don't believe this became canon, but at least it wouldn't be wasteful and makes sense.
