Some of this will make more sense after I put up a post detailing the organisational structure of the New Vinberland Defense Force and the New Vinberland State Guard, but there should be enough in here that people can read between the lines and fill in some of the blanks.

TO: Director Intelligence Jovina Serro
FROM: Senior Agent(Counter Intelligence) Ansley SearSUBJECT: Leaking of 01 Oct 20 Status of Forces
Jovina, I've appended a copy of the document I was discussing with you earlier today. This was uploaded to a forum on the public datanet that is frequented by military enthusiasts and was part of a larger restricted briefing package that was supplied by NVDF Command to the staff elements of each brigade headquarters and offices of the politicians on the defense committees of the upper and lower houses. I am overseeing the investigation to find the leak, however given the number of people employed at or with access to those offices it has the potential to be a large task. Instructions have been issued to the brigade staff intelligence officers and to the chiefs of staff of the relevant positions to review their document security procedures.
Ansley.

Defense Force and State Guard Status of Forces Update, 01 October 12020
101st Armoured Brigade, 1st Battalion (80% of Nominal Strength)
Current - The 101st/1st is short its striker task force and the armoured task forces are still in the process of transitioning to the modified table of equipment that was developed after the Battle of Emorum. The reconnaissance platoons are at 75% strength and the artillery battery at full strength.
Future - The lack of a striker task force would significantly weaken the battalion if major hostilities were to occur and activation of this force is an important future step in improving the capabilities of the NVDF. A further proposal under consideration is the raising an additional armoured task force and artillery battery, with the intent of eventually separating an armoured task force, reconnaissance platoon and artillery battery as the cadre for a second battalion.
Current - The 110th/1st is currently being stood up and will fill a middle ground between the heavy combat capability of the 101st and the rapid deployment capability of the 151st. All equipment in the brigade will be suitable for rapid transportation, however the light brigade will not have the organic heavy transport capabilities of the 151st. The understrength 3rd company of the 151st/1st has been reassigned to the battalion to provide light reconnaissance and troop insertion capabilities.
Future - The 110th/1st is expected to continue activating additional platoons of light combined arms elements, with the NVDF Command hopeful that steady activation rate of an additional platoon every three to four production cycles can be achieved.
Current - The battalion has dropped in strength with the transferring of the 3rd company to the 110th. The performance of the 151st has been adequate, but unexceptional. As the 110th Brigade increases in strength it is expected that brigade will take over many of the roles originally intended for the 151st. The speciality transports developed under Project Rabid Donkey have been rendered obsolete by other developments, however these airframes will continue in their role since any new production of military equipment is being prioritised towards expansion rather than replacement.
Future - The battalion is expected to remain at its reduced strength the immediate future. The Duchy's factories are already operating at their maximum capacity and the raising of a third battalion for the 151st/1st is considered a lower priority than the needs of the 110th, 180th and 720th Brigades.
(AS: Note - That "adequate, but unexceptional" shows how quickly a perception can change. If the leak had been from the most recent overview, and not this slightly dated version, it would have been praising the battalion's outstanding performance in high risk beachhead operations.)
Currently possessing no active units, at present the 180th/1st exists only as a small staff element that is determining the operational and doctrinal requirements for the NVDF's special operations force.
(AS: Not really relevant to the leak, but I continue to have concerns about the 180th. The SAB is going to be in direct competition with the NVSG's 720th for resources and the NVSG unit is going to be better positioned to influence several important decision makers in government. Another issue I can see is the 180th wanting to take their pick of the best soldiers from the 901st, which is going to create tensions between the SAB and regular forces. If the SAB can acquire the resources to develop their own training formations that will resolve those tensions with the regulars, but that is going to create a separate issue with opposition from other commands within the NVDF who believe that the Duchy will be better served by using those funds to expand regular army units.)
701st State Guard Brigade, 1st Battalion (50% of Nominal Strength)
3rd Battalion (40% of Nominal Strength)
Current - All the heavier equipment deployed by the 701st/1st has been salvaged from various bandit groups. Keeping this equipment pooled together in the 701st has reduced the logistical burden that would otherwise result from using non-standard equipment, since the nature of the 701st's duties keeps it close to maintenance and manufacturing facilities. The vehicles recently seized by ATTP Bravo have brought the first two task force sized elements to full strength and provided the material for a third. The VTOL and fixed wing elements from the 3rd battalion continue to conduct important survey and border surveillance operations, however ground reconnaissance elements of the battalion have suffered losses in engagements with bandits and currently have limited capability.
Future - The 1st Battalion is expected to continue to grow towards full strength as additional bandit salvage is bought into service. It is not expected that any assets will available in the immediate future for expansion of the 3rd battalion.
Current - The 720th is being stood up as the NVDF's maritime security force. The current acquisitions for the battalion are focused on VTOLs, hover platforms, coastal guns and powered armour. The initial reinforced company being deployed currently possesses approximately 80% of its VTOL and hover assets, however it currently has no power armoured infantry. The first coastal gun battery has been installed at Emorum. These initial elements of the battalion are preparing to commence patrols of Emorum Bay and the Cannalium Heads.
Future - Additional VTOL, hover and powered armoured elements are being activated and it is expected that a reinforced task force of approximately half battalion strength will be operational within the month.
(AS: Note - Whoever leaked this document either didn't possess or choose not to release the attached documents that detailed Project Nighthawk and the Nighthawk Protocol. The initial deployment information is dated, as with the recent detection of pirate raiders approaching Astodatum the 720th responding as per the protocol. However the lack of power armoured infantry elements, lack of aerospace support and shortage of close attack gunships is resulting in the force being deployed in a manner that should be considered dangerously deficient in several key capabilities.)
901st Brigade, 1st ATTP Battalion (90% of Nominal Strength)
Future - The present number of training platoons is considered adequate for the NVDF's needs and there are no plans to raise any additional ATTP battalions. Bringing the battalion's escort vehicle pool to full strength is a priority, however the 101st, 110th, 180th and 720th also currently have demands for such vehicles and it will likely be some months before the demand can be fulfilled across all NVDF and NVSG formations.
