Okay men and women of the Inner Sphere, and you wretched Clanners. Some of us were introduced to battletech through the games of the 90's and early 00's. Obviously they required the utmost in cinematic intros and trailers in order to attract new players.
What is everyone's favorite Cinematic and why?
It's tough for me. Mechcommander I sat behind my father as he played. He was never "allowed" to skip the intro cinematic LMAO. Mechwarrior 3 has the stellar voice narration before the Mad Cat and Thor crest the hill. Mechwarrior 4 still gives me goosebumps even if I am furious at how quickly Sigma lance was wiped out.

I think Mechwarrior 5 (Cancelled). It just looked (and still looks) really good. I haven't played PGI's game so I can't comment on it, but Cancelled 5's trailer was really good. Graphics aren't everything, but it is really genuinely hard for me to get into the older MW games. I know people love their MW2: Mercs but I played it a few years back and I gotta say, I wasn't impressed (though that had more to do with most of my hits refusing to register and the very basic enemy AI than anything else). But MW Cancelled's got a really nice, smooth look to it and I think does a very good job at drawing the viewer in and immersing them.

Ironically my first interaction with the Warhammer. Having only played the games til Mechwarrior Online came out. I was completely caught off guard by the mech. Years later my only surprise is how someone approved the Atlas C 30ish years before it was produced.

My brother and I started a rivalry over which was better the Timber Wolf (Mad Cat) vs the Summoner (Thor) thanks to MW2's intro. We got the game free with our IBM Aptiva back in 2006 just because we had a particular video card. Between Mech 2 and X-Wing vs Tie Fighter that swallowed up a lot of free time for years and years. Eventually I managed to score a copy of Ghost Bears a couple of years later while passing through a local mall, not even aware their was expansion packs at the time. Never managed to find a physical copy of MW2 Mercenaries however, downloaded a copy years after that. Then almost 10 years to the day my brother and I scored a "Titanium Edition" copy unopened from a random yard sale. Felt really strange replaying the campaigns with the different graphics, sounds, enemy mechs falling over, etc.

Well the Mad Cat fought an Atlas that was just missing a medium laser, and then was flanked by 40 LRMs on the left torso.
The Thor however, took a couple rounds in the back from the fireflys before obliterating one and crippling the other. Squashing bugs is no comparison vs combatting an Atlas.
