History-Founded in 3020 when Warlord Vargas Landed on the Planet and Raided the Fedsun Controlled City of Yorshire after conquering the region Vargas's forces launched a purge killing all Fedsun males above the age of sixteen, With many of the former pirate crew taking second and third wives from the widows. After the bloody business was done  Yorshire was remained to Scalaria and Vargas took the name of Archduke.
Politics-the fiefdom is divided into shires small hamlets of 50-100 people lead by a Yeoman and his housecarl enforcers who collect taxes and enforce the Dukes laws. Above the Yeoman are the Reeves rule over 2-4 Yeoman and whose private Armies make up the Bulk of the Fyrd. A Baron is usually a learned individual who runs the factory and Bases of the Fiefdom this title is only given by appointment directly from the Archduke and terms usually are for 3-5 years.  The Fiefdom has 3 Counts who were formally the pirates band Pilot,Weapon master,Quartermaster respectively and each of the serve the fiefdom in different roles from chief diplomat,High Marshal and Realm Treasurer.Lastly is The Archduke who rule autocratically and if he wish has almost dictatorial powers but out of his grace yield such responsibility to the lower nobility.         
The Archduke- Archduke Vargas is not the young man he used to be this September 5th he turns 42 very old for a pirate one of the main reasons he founded the nation was because he was sick of living on a Jumpship. Born on Solaris 7 to a Battlemech gladiator and one of the whores who take their money Vargas only knew a life of violence and after he lost his pirate mentor Captain Lana to a Fedsun Union Dropship he only knows hatred for them.Never a smart man the only thing he was good at was piloting his Marauder but as a Statesman he finds himself lacking,Luckily his daughter from his first wife Princess Yara Vargas has proved herself a skilled warrior and capable of keeping the Reeves inline but at the moot to decide the Archdukes successor the choose Prince Rickard Vargas's 12 year old son to be his heir on account that he is the Duke's eldest son,Leading to some strife in the Fiefdom.

The Military-The Scalarian Fyrd is largely composed of levy infantry in jeeps or Lightly Armored tanks  this allows them to easily bypass heavy units and sow discord behind enemy lines most levy units are led by a housecarl or a Yeoman. The Pride of the Fyrd is it's knight core or battlemech division made of the hereditary battlemechs of the nobles most lances are of 4-5 battlemech maned by Reeves or wealthy Yeoman, during war these lance are supported by 3-6 tanks and hovercraft. Above the lance level are companys of 12-14 mechs lead by a general(a promoted Reeve or a count) only in times of great war will a battalion be raised of 3 company's led by duel counts the duke himself or a prince.

Society & Culture
The fiefdom is divided by a caste system but ones place in it is not rigid(In theory) a warrior who fights well or a genius scholar will gain a title, a incompetent buffoon will lose it if not his head. The nobles live like kings with multiple wives and husbands and feast every night,while the nation serfs are regualry starved, beaten and abused by the noble classes and if a serf is found more than 8 miles from his work place or his home he is hanged from his neck until dead. A new tradition has also formed in the fiefdom known as the first knight where when two serfs marry the lord of the hamlet if they should choose can be the one to personal consummate the marriage. If under rare circumstances a serf is raised to nobility his close family and his spouse family also gain nobility the reverse is also true. All people of the Fiefdom are expected to attend mass twice a week once on Sunday and again on Tuesday or Saturday. Punishment in the fiefdom is often sudden and draconian so the noble classes can maintain their authority. 
Clothing- In the fiefdom to wear trousers is a sign of the peasantry and nobles only wear them during war,While the men of the nobility often wear long flowing robes of silk leaving very little flesh open to sight as noble man pride their modesty.During war the men often wear heavily embodied purple dress uniforms with gold trim.The female  often wear fine silken togas with the left breast exposed,during war female nobles wear very similar uniforms as the men but instead of pants they have a long flowing dress or a short skirt.
