Could bridge layers be used to allow crossing rivers easier, how would they work and would /could the bridges be permanent.
Yes, another great idea by players! I would probably expect them to be tank chassis based (since that is what all of the ones currently are). I wouldn't call these units permanent structures through, and think it would actually be better if they weren't. How I would envision this is you would purchase a unit with a bridgelayer, move it to a "river" map tile and park it there. For as long as it remains in that map tile any units passing through that tile would treat the tile as if a river wasn't present at all. That way if an enemy is advancing the bridgelayer can pick up and retreat and the enemy would need the full +3 movement to cross (unless they have their own bridgelayer).
