In the next turn I will be doing something I didn't do during Alpha play test and posting a leader board update each new turn to showcase which Empires have the top 3 spots in terms of 1) Total Territory owned, 2) Total Population and 3) Largest Army Size. I will not be giving away numbers or facts, just the three Empire names for each category in ordinal rank. Example: Largest Army Size

3rd - The Land Before Time's Past FutureYou can consider it an honor to get your name listed here...or yell at me if it doesn't.  Periodically I will also give average statistics so you can get an idea of where you are at and relative strength or weakness in certain areas compared to everyone else. For example right now the average Net Earnings for Population Taxes across all active Player empires in all zones is 539,273 C-Bills. I will leave that with you do decide what people are doing with their $$$ from this news... and how well off you are given your time on the planet thus far. Remember all Alpha Players have been active since Turn #1 as a gift to them, the rest of you came at various times later. Those 20 people got milestone money this turn, the rest of you get it individually when you hit 5 survived turns. Plus I know something none of you know that is coming up as a surprise! Scouting is going on, some more than others, but just because you grab a lot of land doesn't mean it is worth a lot! There are special tiles out there for the taking, honestly quite a few towns (much more than in Alpha), ports (more), neutral cities (a tad fewer), MFB structures, abandoned deployment structures awaiting reactivation, and the fabled and highly prized spaceports.... *mouth watering* Oh, I can see the whole map so this is much easier for me to identify, but thinking about key features in the strategic map terrain will be a good idea for the future, bottlenecks, thick mountain ranges, land bridges, thicker forest regions, etc. that make good defensive zones. Also remember everyone's play styles are different. We had a great range of strengths in the Alpha with some military might focusing on brute strength, some on maneuver, some on scouting and harassment, and some...some on literally just UrbanMechs carrying Battle Armor.... rolls eyes. Thank you for not doing that again! I am happy to report quite the variety of play-styles emerging yet again, plenty to think of and even more potential. A lot of new ideas too! So don't get discouraged, we are still only in the beginning phase. The war has just begun with bandits coming online. They are only A.I. so learn well, think hard, and don't buy swarms of UrbanMechs (That isn't a strategy!), because you got maybe another 5-8 turns I am guessing/planning before people start bumping into one another, then the real mess begins... |

There is exactly one QUAD legged 'Mech on the field.
Five-hundred and twenty (520) strategic map tiles were captured this turn. That is a lot of borders I have to draw!
There are 20 players fighting 36 battles this week, clearly that influx of money was well spent!!! (Also the more you move the more you fight!)
There has been no human versus human conflict yet, but still only two empires have found one another in this dark cruel world!
The unit most purchased this turn and all turns thus far is NOT an UrbanMech!

We currently have 41 players with 4 still waiting for hell to freeze over before joining, and I just put up another post this morning on a regular BattleTech website, trying to at least get to 50 for a solid number.
The most popular canon unit by all players currently is a VTOL. (Surprised?)
Five players have at least one Flatbed Truck (of some variant), isn't that interesting?
The most used Mech Scale weapon currently is the Machine Gun, followed very likely by the AC/5 and Medium Laser. (No I didn't count, but this seems very likely based on my view as a demi-god.)
Word to the wise, don't run of cliffs.
All across the lands there are just as many Aerospace/Conventional fighters deployed as their are Mechs (231 for each)!
At least three players have now lost units in combat (VTOL's don't have much armor on their rotors you know.)
Six-hundred and thirteen (613) strategic map tiles were captured this turn. Up by almost 100 from last time!
*Currently* there are 18 players fighting 36 battles this week, and in some cases it is really lop-sided. There is one player fighting 5 battles, and three players fighting 4 engagements this week!
Speaking without contractions for one second, the first human versus human "trial" occurred this week between two Clanner Factions over what I can only guess was possession of a desert tumbleweed. I hope it is everything you ever wanted!
Also it is hilarious the amount of "near misses" some of you have had nearly finding one another.
Sea side, sea shore, wavy ocean images on tiles no more!!!! (By player request I am phasing out the wave images on the strategic map and leaving it only the color blue HEX 0000FF; RGB 0,0,255. As most of you know by now there is a lot more water on this "world" than the Alpha one.)

Alright, 38 emails sent and we are technically overdue on two player file sets for this past turn, but I know one is arriving tomorrow, and it seems it is always different people each week. No worries, stuff happens. SOOoooo some of you might get a notification mid week that you made contact with one of our late processed players. Many of you are getting very close to one another (within less than 15 map tiles) more frequently, and we have made human contacts this week collectively. There were ONE spaceport discovered this week, not including the Admin Empire's that was discovered and buzzed awhile ago, prompting a military response.
Someone was looking into purchasing an actual train this week... you know that needs rails, not the "land trains" like the Prairie Schooner or Elite Series 3. Sorry, we can't accommodate those.
Five-hundred and sixty-one (561) strategic map tiles were captured this turn. I must have plotted out something like 3,000 population tiles as well.
There are 24 players fighting 69 battles this week, and one crazy person has to deal with 11 of them. May the flak shells find you among the clouds!!!!!!
No human versus human conflict this week, unless unarmed scouts decide to ram one another or bombers bomb flying other bombers. Just remember TURN #10 the pirates start marauding!
There is not a single Atlas on the field yet.
Surprisingly there are twice as many infantry as their are Battle Armor deployed.

The player capital with the longest one word name has 16 characters!
One of the players in this game has a first name that is the Admin's middle name.
Our first "treaty change" lasted for all of three hours before going back to "NONE."

Well, that was fun. I had a complex three-way player meet up that I had to wrap my head around, so the players involved can have fun with that! And nearly another three-way meeting occurred too! As it stands several players now have two new communications channels, and even more have one new "Frienemy!" One poor sole was just trying to move units in their base and got interrupted! Silly door to door scouts!
If you are feeling left out, trust me it won't be for long, there were at least five more close contacts that missed each other by just 2 or 3 map tiles. Also more people are joining this week, at least two, so we are up to like 43 or something, their might even be three sheep in a trench-coat out there too!

In terms of international leaders, there are at least six "Presidents" out there as the most popular title. (I don't think "Jr." in "Bob Jr." counts as a title.)
The average territory owned is something like 260.3 km^2 for a given nation.
There have been 38 custom units designs submitted to the Admin for use and approved, not saying all of those are out in the field yet.
Seven-hundred and thirty-five (735) strategic map tiles were captured this turn. The land grab has truly begun!
There are 94 battles this week, and bandits claimed seven player units this past turn! Hooray the flak shells worked!!!!!! 
In other worrying news, RRRrrrrrrr there be PIRATES in the lands! It's TURN 10 peeps! One lucky player got a pirate attack, since I rolled low enough to have one occur this turn! It happened to Player #9 by the way, not that anyone knows who is who by number.
There is not a single Timber Wolf (Mad Cat) on the field yet, and I am surprised. However someone is fielding a variant of my personal favorite design, 60 cool points to you good sir! (*Cool points have no real cash value.)
This past turn the first "bridge" was "layed", and the first "abandoned" Mech Factory was captured.
Someone traveled within 5 map tiles of an abandoned city and doesn't realize it.
Someone traveled within 3 map tiles of an Admin "Recon Outpost" and never saw it.
Someone traveled within 2 map tiles of a rare "Glacier" biome.
Someone does know something that they weren't supposed to have found out, and all I can say is don't make the "Ragdoll's" upset. Honda will contact you soon (for those of you eavesdropping, I don't mean the car company.)
There is now an official "WAR" going on.
There are no Assault Aerospace fighters fielded yet.
The most popular "Light" mech does not have an "a" in its name.

Well one battle this week includes two humans and an AI bot, someone moved directly into a map tile with a battle already raging. The Admin fought his first battle in control of some pirates; speaking of which the roll was low for this week, so no players get a new plundering pirate raid, and the first one still is ongoing.
We currently have 45 players, and I am working on files for yet another interested party!
