Is there such a thing as a Royal variant to the Awesome? There are Royal variants for almost every 3025 era mech, but maybe not that one? Can anyone think of other non-Royals?

No, there is now Royally Awesome mech. No Royal Awesome variant. Funny enough there is no Royal Atlas either, they simply made a new chassis the Atlas II.

If memory serves me well I don't think there is a royal version to the Whitworth, Spider or even the Guillotine which was a stable heavy mech of the SLDF for a long time.

As for a Royal unit, don't forget that the designs in the Star League section of TRO3058U are described as being designed for Royal commands. In particular that means recon lances equipped with the Spector SPR-4F or assault lances fielding the Pillager PLG-3Z.

I don't think there needs to be a "royal" version of every battlemech from that time period. I think the SLDF high command would have been picky with the equipment they gave their top units and Terran only personnel, if not for combat reasons, but to make them more easily identifiable to their foes for morale purposes.
That said the Devastator was barely off the drawing board at the time that Kerensky took the SLDF out of the Inner Sphere, so no royal Devastator either.
Similarly the Commando was strongly held on to by Lyran command and they went to great lengths to avoid any ending up into Star League hands.
