We can buy field guns and turrets I know. But I have a question came up I weren't able to answer and I don't have my rulebooks to know. The question concerns firing arcs. Are gun emplacements turrets or do they have a fixed firing arc? Do they weapons get mounted facing one hexside only in combat?

Gun emplacements and turrets are one in the same and have 360 degree of fire if mounted on top of a building.
Field guns have a limited arc and are mobile and can be towed.

Can field guns fit in transports at all? I mean they are technically infantry platoons... Can they capture terrain?

The lightest field gun crews are the gauss and uac20 at 44-tons each. I don't think there is a single unit with an 'infantry' carry capacity that large besides dropships. But yes they can capture terrain, I do know that as they are 'infantry.'

I suppose one could create a "field gun" squad of sorts, perhaps just 1 AC/5 gun rather than the typical three for example in the standard platoon. That should be dramatically less weight?
