QUESTION SUBMITTED VIA EMAIL: If all the infantry in the unit is mounted upon vehicles, do they not count as the slowest unit?
Correct you are! IF the unit isn't moving under its own power then you take the speed of the slowest unit that is moving. For example if a Hetzer Wheeled Assault Gun (moves 4/6), a Jump Platoon (Laser) (1/2/3) and a Maxim Heavy Hover Transport (Std) (8/12) were traveling together and the infantry mounts onboard the Maxim so they aren't walking anymore, then the slowest unit in the group becomes the Hetzer at speed 4.

So if I want to load an Elemental onto a mek, do I have the mek walk to the square, spend 1 movement point loading the elementals, then it can move at the rest of it's points? eg, the mek has movement profile 5/8/5, it moves 1, loads an elemental, then it can move 3 more, yes?
And to capture a square, I have to unload the elemental, then reload it, so using the above example again, 5/8/5, one movement to move to the square, one to unload, one to load, 2 more movement points left?

The only units that need to spend movement to "load/claim/unload" are VTOL based infantry. Everything else automatically captures terrain as it passes through at regular movement rates per the terrain, and doesn't require burning movement to capture. The idea being it is simple to walk into and out of an APC, climb on top of or jump off a tank, and grab or let go of a BA hand-hold on a 'Mech. VTOL's need more time to carefully land or find a place to land.
Essentially, it is a nerf aimed at VTOL's just because they have no regular movement penalties due to flying over terrain obstacles.

For transporting infantry also take into account if they have anti-mech training, I had an infantry unit double its weight due to anti-mek training and that can cause major problems in a megamek game set-up such as when you're going over an ocean. The weight will increase depending on how many soldiers have the training.

I guess this means they are given a lot of extra gear? Explosives, lift pitons, ropes or magnetic clamps? I doubt they are just given an all you eat chocolate fondo fountain during training. Putting on several tons seems a little excessive.
