Do I need to hire the same support staff as you would in a normal mekhq campaign (Ex. Admin/hr, doctors, astechs, et cetra.)
Yes to Doctors, Medics, Techs, Mechanics, Astechs. Since WarShips are not in use you won't need Hyperspace Navigators. Admin/Command, Admin/Logistics, Admin/Transport, and Admin/HR actually offer bonuses in AtB scenarios, such as map re-rolls, initiative bonuses, and I believe bonuses to finding replacement parts/personnel usually, etc. They aren't necessary, but you may have them if you want some of those bonus chances (especially to initiative) after you level them up. They are also good for role-players.
