Inspired by similar field manuals composed for our personnel on each of the major and minor interstellar empires, planetary governmental bodies, interplanetary corporations, major institutions, independent or criminal organizations, remnants of precursor/ancient civilizations, rebel or separatist groups, terrorist organizations, and more, as per your explicit orders, preparations for a Field Manual: Kristan Dominion on our own factional identity are almost complete and are awaiting your final review. I hope this publication does our unique and storied cultural history proud, showcasing the benevolent deeds we have accomplished, how we have not forgotten any errs and endeavored to right them, and our collective aspirations of setting in motion “good responsible government” that we strive for, for all peoples.
This manual knew three initial purposes. To follow and document the early years prior to and the many years after our formation, to evaluate our military state of readiness and where we might achieve further successes therein, and to evaluate our interactions with the greater human race at large. To this end I believe we have firmly and fully accomplished our goals for this written work.
A report nearly eight years in the making, with full cooperation between all of the civil, corporate and military branches of “the Kristan Dominion” and the support of the Planetary Parliament of Mars, this Field Manual was judged to have been completed in its initial draft during this the month and year of [REDACTED]. Facts Sheet: Classification: A Balanced Trinity - What we are.
1) The military branch for The Planetary Parliamentary Democracy of Mars;
2) An independent standing “Military Order” with volunteer extra-national foreign legions at arms, in stewardship over “the Kristan Dominion” (which contains the Order’s civilian population and directly controlled territory) or providing protectorate military cooperation in defense of, various interstellar territories and allies;
3) and a Monarchy for the people of Mars, with no noble class (Lords, Ladies, Dukes, Earls, etc) with a hereditary lineage and title of “Sovereign,” whom the holder of acts as a figure head or military champion as opposed to a “King,” the later term being ‘abolished from use’ in any governmental fashion. Wherein, all citizens are granted equal status and equal basic human rights set down in charter and constitution, which abolishes all forms of servitude/slavery, does not set anyone ‘above laws’ and provides equal representation for all at four equal different levels of government, planetary, nation, provincial/territorial and municipal, with a decree of “good responsible governance” for all.

Location (Terra relative): Complete military protection for Venus, Earth and Mars in the Terran system (and partial control of several other stellar bodies in the Sol system), complete control of the systems of Ross 248 (x = 31.2, y = -18.7) and Van Maanen’s Star (x = 37.1, y = -27.85), both within 60 light years of Terra. Complete control of [REDACTED] full planetary systems within the known and charted Inner Sphere or Periphery. The “Kristan Dominion” also boosts control of a 250 kilometer zone surrounding each of the 25 “Great Depots” found throughout the Inner Sphere when those depots are not found within a pre-existing urban area. Branches:
[HIGH COMMAND]: The senior “flag officer” staff of the Kristan Forces, and other tiers of higher echelon levels (Corps level and up) across interstellar regions; led by a “Triumvirate” at its top level, which appoints the “Sovereign-General” as its separate spokes-person, director of meetings, and is given the position of a “tie-breaker vote” (should anyone abstain) or veto status privileges if the Triumvirate’s actions could lead to a break of basic human rights for anyone rite large.
[CLASSIFIED ACTIONS & TACTICS SERVICES (CATS)]: CATS is the Kristan Dominion’s intelligence service responsible for collecting, analyzing, reporting and disseminating intelligence on threats to Kristan Dominion security (or its allies/protectorate nations), and conducting operations, covert and overt, within or outside of their territorial grounds. These activities include the usual counterintelligence, surveillance, cyber-security and covert operations departments, as well as maintaining an elite standing military force for more aggressive acts as required. (ie: Special Forces) THESE ARE THE PEOPLE CHEATERS DON'T WANT TO MESS WITH!!!
[KRISTAN SECURITY AUTHORITY (KSA)]: The Kristan Security Authority (KSA) is responsible for "second line" formations (regular or irregular) of home guard, militia, reserves, or paramilitary forces, looking after their acquisitions, maintenance, supply, etc. as well as supervision of garrisoned world's civil policing authorities.
The KSA largely provides for defensive initiatives, emergency law enforcement, paramilitary service, support for natural disasters, war preparation services, and can assist with the planning and building of fortifications.
The KSA also includes within its ranks the Kristan Coast Guard (for those regions with an active blue water naval force) and the Kristan Military Police (KMP). The KMP does have a limited 'Mech and armor force and is called to step up to task whenever needed. (For all intents and purposes such formations are considered green to regular in skill, and reliable, and are often painted in black or grey with white accents.)
Lastly, the KSA drafts contracts for, approves, and monitors any mercenaries hired by the Kristan Dominion, providing liaison officers as necessary. All integrated or "House" lead commands for mercenaries under the Kristan Dominion's employ are dealt with by this branch and attached to the KF as necessary.
[KRISTAN FORCES (KF)]: The Kristan Forces or just "The Forces" are the Kristan Dominion's government-sponsored defenses, fighting forces, and similar organizations. The Forces are divided into four basic service branches, the Army ('Mech, Armor and Infantry), Navy (WarShips, JumpShips and DropShips), Aerospace (and conventional aircraft or VTOLs) and Joint Support Branches (Logistics, Artillery, Engineers, Tech, etc.) with the later overlapping with the LTS and MTR branches as necessary.)
[LOGISTICS & HUMAN RESOURCES (LHR)]: This branch looks after the Kristan Dominion government's and military's vast transportation network (infrastructure, ie: bridges, roads, highways, etc), and the civil government’s transportation units from the smallest ground car, flatbed and exo-suit to the many large and long haul DropShips and JumpShips. They deal with civil delivery/transportation routes, scheduling, personnel records (birth, marriage, death, etc), censuses, assist with city and housing planning, recreation centers and activity initiatives for the public, skilled trades training, free education and scholarships, funding for free health care, and coordination for overlapping emergency military maneuvers across these pathways in regards to effecting civil liberties, and providing the least negative impact possible. This branch corresponds routinely with the “Joint Support Branch” of the Kristan Forces who oversees logistics for the military.
[MANUFACTURING & TECHNICAL SERVICES (MTS)]: On one side the Kristan Dominion's civil labor force and technical support branch, MTS, represents and supports unions of all sizes and kinds beyond the manufacturing and technical side of things. This branch is in charge of overseeing regular repair schedules, maintenance schedules, refits, retrofits, and the like for all interstellar civil transports within Kristan Dominion space (to help prevent mis-jumps of space-faring JumpShips, or deadly DropShip crashes on planets.) {Think of them in part as a “Department of Motor Vehicles” and “International Air Transport Association” of pre-space flight days}. Likewise, this branch sets the safety regulations for and ensures the production of and equal distribution of all manner of products (from foodstuffs to hazardous chemical transport, restaurant health statutes to natural resources like water/oil/rubber, etc). They ensure fair hiring processes, set education requirements/certifications for various professions, produce low-cost housing models to combat homelessness and assigns tasks to any outsourced companies external to the “Dominion”, entrepreneurs or labor pools, and provides liaisons to such outside entities when necessary.
The other side of MTS is the self-isolated manufacturing sector/capacity of the Kristan Dominion's government and military, separate from independent civil manufacturing intake. From the smallest ball bearing or pair of combat boots to the largest Warships and space stations, this department ensures their quality production and stockpile at quantity. As required ALL factories, natural resource procurement industries and everything in between related to production within the Dominion, civil or military, or for export beyond must report their overheads, true production runs figures, and estimated available natural resources in their possession to this department, should they need to be procured at “better than fair” prices in times of emergency.
[RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT & SCIENCE (RDS)]: The Kristan Dominion's research and development arm, this branch deals with design and testing of all new military hardware from weapons and 'Mech designs to targeting/tracking systems and new munitions. They also research for the civil sector including medical, agricultural, nano-technological, biological and chemical engineering and many more areas of influence. The civil headquarters for this branch is located on Altair, with a major scientific university at its core.
[INTERSTELLAR MEDIATION & MARKETING (IMM)]: The Kristan Dominion's diplomatic corps and business outreach section, this branch assigns/connects politicians and ambassadors to/from other entities, mediating or delegating with protectorates, subjugates, vassals and subsidiaries, and servicing investors, consumers, other producers and the citizenry at large in commercial needs. This branch also conducts policies for all media, ensures fair and moral practices in all marketing areas, marketing research, and advertising campaigns for products and goods export.
[GOOD BUSINESS & FINANCIAL AFFAIRS (GBFA)]: This branch deals with the monetary affairs of the Kristan Dominion, its territorial holdings, all monetary interactions and oversight in regards to protectorates, subjugates, vassals and subsidiaries, it oversees pursuing new acquisitions through purchase and trade, any and all legal affairs regarding the Dominion’s treasuries, and the works closely with the IMM and MTS maintaining quality assurance/good business conduct. This branch controls the banks, monetary reserves, currency manufacturing/availability/distribution, and monitors or ensures the quality and markings or certifications of all circulating precious metals, stones, and materials.
[JUDGE ADVOCATE GENERAL COMMAND (JAG)]: Charged with administering the KF's code of conduct, the Judge Advocate General Command is also in charge of worlds under martial law or rebellion. Military governors would remain in command of worlds until the situation had calmed enough to assign civilian administrators to take over. This branch also helps to protect local and regional laws, whereby they don’t stand in opposition to the chartered or constitutional basic human rights. JAG also provides law schools for civil law education, and a fast network for processing and transmitting awareness for Interstellar Warrants, be they for Crimes Against Humanity, War Crimes or otherwise. They coordinate a great deal with the Kristan Military Police.
[ADMINISTRATIVE COMMAND (AC)]: In charge of the mid-to-upper echelons of the KF's bureaucracy, this ‘Command’ has relatively few personal, and the responsibility of gathering and organizing records from all other branches into reports for the “High Command” to determine actions on. Essentially they are the “attaché’s” and “support staff” of the “High Command” flag officers, a most vital and critical job given to only the most loyal and trusted officers. This branch also runs many of the KF's military academies and boot camps as its secondary initiative.
[MEDICAL COMMAND (MC)]: Medical Command is charged with the medical treatment and care of all KF soldiers, allies, enemy belligerents, etc. It maintains a fleet of medical vehicles, spacecraft and orbital stations, and has access to the most advanced medical technology available. On the civil end they look after the conduct and training of all medical personnel within Kristan Dominion space, and help to staff and provide the requisite free health care services available at all Kristan Dominion hospitals, medical centers, medical universities, clinics, etc.
