Update #9 â February 2 to February 24
Relief Duty Contract for Federated Suns against Draconis Combine on Shinonoi
Some house keeping to start with
Sorry for the delay in postings!
Stryker has joined us with his Character Boomer from the Fed Suns Outback and his tank crew in his Devastator Heavy Tank. A beefy assault boi with two ac/20s, 3 small lasers, a srm6, and a flamer!
Snake Eyes has upgraded his gunnery, he is now 3/4, our first founder level up veteran! He got the Blind Fighter SPA automatically assigned, let me know if thereâs a different SPA youâd like me to pick or if youâd like me to reroll that. Itâs funny that it fits his name thoughâŚ
Nomadâs broken rib heals up on February 3, luckily in time for our next mission on February 5. A Stand Up (Defender) mission that is coincidently rolled with a moonless night modifier⌠Thanks Shoeless haha
With this being a defense mission for the command lance, I think itâs fine to add in Boomer and his tank crew to help defend the town weâre in against the onslaught of the Draconis Combine!
Iâm testing out exporting the whole board with units as a .png instead of stitching together the pictures like I have been, hopefully theyâre large enough still.
Stand Up (Defender) â February 5, 3040
Most of the Command lance deploys a little north of the middle of their deployment zone. Igloo decides to deploy far north in hopes of getting some early shots with the clear line of sight north of the town. Our friendly dervish deploys on the main road leading through the town.
Enemies deployed rather spread out, but with some fast vehicles towards the north eyeing up Igloo.
The vehicles up north do start heading towards Igloo, so the lance moves to cover him. Igloo is able to run past some woods and get a bit of cover.
No one has any good reads on targets yet this round, even Snake Eyes with his propensity for the dark.
Round 2
The harassers & saladins turn towards the rest of the lance instead of heading towards Igloo. The lance moves to put themselves in good shooting range while stay just outside of effective range of the harassers SRMS.
Itâs at this point that I remember why I try to reroll moonless nights lol
Most of our shots are 11 or 12, so I shoot as much laser weapons from Snake Eyes as I can, both PPCs from Omega and only one LRM20 from Nomad.
Snake Eyes scores one medium laser hit on the Harasser, melting all of the armor off the FR of it. Omega scores a glancing hit with one PPC, blowing off the armor on the LS of the Harasser and dealing heavy motive damage, halving its MP.
Enemy fire all misses
Round 3
Omega backs up a bit expecting the hover vehicles to zoom by him and try to get in his rear, but to his admonishment, the one harasser drives in a circle and ends up back where it was and the saladins move into the town.
Snake Eyes takes the opportunity to grab some cover in the heavy woods next to him.
Nomad stays still and lines up a shot on either the VTOL or second harasser thatâs driving in circles. Igloo moves forward to secure the kill on the retreating harasser.
Omega switches to focus on the scout tank flying up on him with his lasers and SRM6
Snake Eyes takes some shots at the Saladin that looks like itâs being piloted a bit better.
Nomad switches to the scout tank as well with his medium lasers
Igloo fires at the fleeing harasser.
Nomad scores one medium laser hit on the scout tank. Nomad takes a few SRM rounds from the scout tank in return. Our friendly Dervish scores a single srm round on the skulker tank
This is going to take forever haha
Round 4
Both of the Saladins go speeding towards Snake Eyes, and then do a 180 pointing at Igloo, with their AC/20s at medium range. Iâm not sure what they were thinking.
Igloo stays still, hoping to get good shots something moving fast near him, not too worried about the Saladins, even the better pilot would need an 11 to hit him from here.
Nomad stays still hoping to get a good shot with his LRMs at the Scout tank as it drives away. Omega steps past the Saladinâs field of fire to deal with either the Stinger or Scout tank
As the AC/20 round goes whizzing by Igloo and ricocheting off the hill behind him, he lines up two PPC shots, one glances off the Front armor of the saladin destroying the stabilizer in the gun, the second slams directly into the lower front armor, stripping most of the rest of the armor there and immobilizing the tank. Kill to Igloo
Snake Eyes fires into the rear of the same Saladin, scoring two medium laser hits removing most of the rear armor and almost killing the tank instead.
Omega fires his medium lasers and SRM6 at the stinger, scoring two srm hits to the RT of the Stinger and a medium laser to the CT. Both remove most of the armor in those locations.
Nomad misses with his LRMs
Our dervish hits the Wasp with 3 missiles
Nothing hits us this round.
Snake Eyes kicks the other Saladin in front of him destroying the tank outright. I probably should have worried about an ammo explosion now that I think about it⌠Oh well, heâs fine.
Round 5
Nomad and Omega head towards the town road to deal with the vehicles that have gone inside the town.
Snake Eyes kicks his jumpjets on and follows the stinger behind the buildings it jumped behind.
Igloo moves on top of the Pegasus scout tank to deny it from shooting him and to tank a shot at the VTOL that flew near him.
The galleon tank presents a nicer sight picture to Snake Eyes so he changes targets. He scores one medium laser into the RR of the vehicle, melting half the armor there and dealing heavy motive damage, halving the MP
The peregrine VTOL is moving too fast for Igloo so he swings his PPCs back at the Saracen that is firing LRMs at him, the fire from both parties lands short.
Our friendly dervish and the wasp trade medium laser hits
Snake Eyes scores a glancing kick the Galleon in the turret. Igloo also scores a glancing kick to the turret of the Pegasus. Our friendly dervish kicks the Skulker in the LS, taking off most of the armor there.
Round 6
Itâs at this point I realized I forgot to change Boomerâs deploy round⌠Heâll be here in round 9
Igloo stays still as the Pegasus drives away, lining up a PPC shot on it.
Omega parks himself on the main road. Nomad slowly makes his way up to the road, noticing the stinger land on a building next to Omega.
Snake Eyes steps into the same hex as the galleon that didnât move
Igloo is rewarding with a nice shot on the Pegasus. Hitting one PPC on its LS.
Nothing shows itself to Omega as he waits patiently on the road.
The stinger moves too quickly for Nomad to track this round.
Snake Eyes fires at the Vedette in front of him. He scores a large laser hit, dealing some minor motive damage and a glancing medium laser hit. Removing half the armor from the FR.
Our friendly dervish breaks through the armor on the wasp, almost blowing off the waspâs RT. The wasp shoots him back in his own RT as punishment, but the dervishâs armor holds.
Snake Eyes lifts a foot up and puts it right through the turret of the galleon, destroying the tank.
The wasp kicks our friendly dervish in the leg for good measure. You tell âem wasp.
End of round report tells me weâve blown through 40% of the enemyâs initial force, Boomer might not make the party, he most have gotten lost in a different town.
I donât know about you all, but this honestly makes me rethink any vehicle purchases for MME⌠Obviously the night doesnât help princess at all and itâs princess and theyâre lighter tanks. But man, heavy mechs just stomp right through them.
Round 7
Nomad moves down the road, hoping for something to poke itâs head out.
Igloo backs up some, being pressured by 3 vehicles now.
Snake Eyes looks up and tracks the stinger as it jumps above him.
Omega moves down the road putting the AC/2 vedette in his sights, firing both of his PPCs when his locks go gold.
Nothing gives Nomad a chance to shoot at it again this round.
Igloo and the Saracen trade pot shots at each other. Both miss each other.
Snake Eyes looks from the Stinger to the tall building the stinger is landing at and shoots everything he has at the building. He damages it enough that the building collapses under the Stinger, the stinger falls 3 levels, takes 1 damage from falling debris, then hits the ground and almost destroying his armor and opening his CT
Omega scores a PPC hit on the AC/2 vedetteâs TU, dealing a critical hit but nothing important was damaged.
Snake Eyes was too busy laughing to land a good kick to the stinger, his kick glances off the RL of the stinger, barely leaving the thing hanging on.
Round 8
Igloo walks forward a bit, feeling the heat slow his mech a bit.
Snake Eyes watches as the stinger tries to get up and then falls again, so he moves forward and then circles back to deal with the stinger to throw off anyone trying to shoot at him.
Omega Backs up into the forest near him to get some cover from the tanks across the river from him.
Nomad turns around to deal with the skulker
Snake Eyes fires his lasers into the downed Stinger. Destroying the CT with his second medium laser hit, annoyingly, it cooks off the 200 rounds of machine gun ammo in the mech and he takes 20 damage from the ammo explosions going off everywhere. Stupid machine gun ammo damage values. He stays standing though, the damage is pretty spread as well.
Igloo fires his medium lasers at the Saracen trying to flank him, missing as the vehicle flies by.
Omega fires both PPCs and his SRM6 at the Vedette shooting at him. He lands a glancing blow with one PPC and 4 of his SRMs hit the tank as well
Nomad misses a kick on the Skulker but keeps his balance.
Round 9
Boomer comes rolling up on the southern road!
Weâve won at this point, but I want to try to get some more exp for everyone since our armor is doing fine at the moment.
Nomad continues pursuing the skulker
Snake Eyes jumps into the main road to get a line on the Mini-Peggy harasser.
Omega stays still aiming at the vedette again.
Igloo steps forward putting the Saracen in short range for his PPCs
Boomer moves full steam ahead to help our friendly dervish with his wasp problem.
The skulker lands a lucky glancing blow head hit on Nomad.
Igloo takes one SRM missile to the RL
Snake Eyes rolls snake eyes and whiffs all his shots, most of them were high though because he jumped
Omega takes a glancing PPC blow from the Panther that showed up
Igloo lands one glancing blow to the Saracenâs FR
Omega misses two 6s on the vedette with his PPCsâŚ
Our friendly dervish scores another glancing blow on the wasp
Nomad lands a solid kick on the RS of the skulker, leaving only 4 armor left in that location.
Round 10
Igloo stays still, hoping to hit something moving fast
Omega also stays bunkered down, keeping out of line of sight of the panther that jumped by him.
Snake Eyes rushes the Panther, getting inside itâs effective PPC range
Boomer moves his tank closer to the wasp but at a slower pace to give his gunners a chance
Nomad moves back towards the town to support Snake Eyes and Omega
Igloo fires at the Pegasus scout tank who didnât move too much this round
Boomerâs turret tracks the wasp as he runs by him, firing his small lasers and both AC/20s. A Small laser scores a hit on the Waspâs head that makes the wasp slow for a second before an AC/20 round hits the Wasps RT, blowing the arm off before coring the mech, Boomerâs first round of shooting and first kill! The wasp managed to hit the turret with one medium laser before getting blown to bits
Omega continues to fire at the AC/2 Vedette, he scores a PPC hit on the RS, dealing moderate motive damage. -1 MP
Snake Eyes dodges a lot of fire this round! Because of all that dip and diving he only lands a glancing large laser blow and one medium laser on the panther.
Nomad fired a long shot LRM20 shot at the Pegasus but it missed.
With this round, we have destroyed 50% of the starting forces, securing the win
Round 11
Boomer follows the Dervish into the town
Igloo charges forward, trying to get away from the vehicles around him, putting his sights on a harasser that didnât move much this round.
The Panther doesnât move at all, so Snake Eyes jumps behind him
Omega takes a turn to cool down with no enemies hassling him yet and Nomad lines up on the Harasser that Igloo has his eyes on
The only thing that hits this round is Snake Eyes lands a medium laser on the LL of the panther and then kicks it for good measure, leaving 1 structure left on the LL
Round 12
Omega stays still, waiting to see where the Panther goes
Snake eyes moves to punish the locust that moved slowly to get in Omegas back
Boomer is able to get in short range of a vedette that moved slowly to attack our friendly dervish.
Igloo moves on top of the harasser and lines up shots at the Pegasus
Nomad moves to reunite with his friend the skulker
Nomad actually gets better shots at a vedette thatâs shooting at him with his LRMs so he fires those off. 12 of his missles hit the vedette
Boomer hits with 4 SRMs, dealing some moderate motive damage.
Snake Eyes hits the locust with a glancing large laser blow, one glancing medium laser, and two solid medium laser hits, the Locust has no more CT armor.
Nomad takes a medium laser hit and misses his.
Omega takes a few machine gun rounds to the back and misses his snapshot ppc hit.
Igloo misses his shots as well
Snake Eyes must really love kicking little things, he takes the Locustâs leg clean up with a kick, the locust falls and almost cores himself taking a crit to his gyro and engine. Thatâs probably an effective kill for Snake Eyes
Igloo & nomad miss their kicks but stay standing
Round 13
Locust pilot ejects, effective kill for Snake Eyes
Weâll make this the final round
Omega moves out onto the street again. Hoping to coax one of the vedettes into line of sight.
Snake Eyes follows the panther who jumped after Igloo
Boomer moves up a bit hoping to cover any avenues of retreat the Vedette might take
Nomad backs up into the forest Omega was.
Igloo moves after the vedettes on the left flank
Omega still doesnât have vision on the vedettes, so he shoots the building next to him, leveling it.
Snake Eyes blows the RA off of the Panther, effectively neutering it.
Boomer obliterates the front armor of the Vedette with an AC/20 leaving 1 structure left that gets finished off by a small laser! 2 kills in first outing, go Boomer! Really living up to the name haha
He does take some motive damage in return from the Vedette though. Luckily it looks like the rest of the enemy force is retreating
Snake Eyes dodges a kick from the panther before almost taking the RL off of the panther with his own kick.
Aftermath
We leave all the salvage, mostly just vehicles and we need a bit of wiggle room if anything good comes up.
We send 3 healed up prisoners home for 25,000 C-bills.
Mechs are all patched up by the end of the day with just some minor armor damage and ammo bins being refilled. Devastatorâs motive damage wasnât too bad and the mechs got that fixed as well.
We order 10 tons of Ac/20 ammo to keep for refilling the Devastatorâs guns
The quality of our repairs on our mechs are going down some, looks like the techs donât have everything they need in the field workshops, weâll have to probably spend some down time on maintenance after this contract and get those back in tip top shape
We go through most of February without any noise from the opfor, but on the last week of February we get news that weâll have a mission on February 29, weâll keep that for next time
Hereâs some player combat stats for everyone. Snake Eyes shot the top of the killboard with 4 kills this battle, 2 mechs and 2 tanks!
