Just a quick update that I am currently working on processing files for the coming TURN #15. I have about 18 sets complete and missing 5 or 6 sets. I am sorry to say we are loosing a few more people for reasons know to them, and wish them well. Perhaps our paths will one day cross again.
In other news VASSAL is still moving forward with progress although it will clearly take time to fully grasp and setup (I will have to rebuild the maps obviously).

Well it is approaching the holiday season, combined with covid, and work schedules real life obviously takes priority.
Good luck on the rebuilding process, I'm sure that will be a miserable project.
May I ask what our current player count for each continent is?

Currently we have our usual 7 in the Clan map, the 3025 map is going to be combined into the mixed continent in perhaps just one more turn and only has 2 people anyway (we are working out the details of this now), and the mixed zone holds 31 players for a total of 40. One of the players who is departing plans to return should we still be active come mid-January.

This won't be for everyone. I think a healthy dose of rp between factions really helps add great flavour to this experience. Perhaps vassal may improve the workload per say

I’m wondering if it would be unfair to show the entire world map to the players. As in the original map you made using software. Not the excel style one.

I do have copies of the original map, however it isn't entirely the same and would not include some of the additions made by myself to increase the amount of landmass that is available.

Apologies again for the delay, however I kind of was hit (as a pedestrian) by a car Monday afternoon while finishing getting gas for my own car, and sustained some heavy bruises and a rather sore back from pulled muscles. Had to make a trip to the clinic for a checkup and finally am healed enough to sit for extended periods of time. I just finished one of the remaining file sets and hope to have the next turn out this weekend. Sigh!!!

Do not worry Hammeyaneggs. Due to the issues with learning Vassal, Admin sent out people as they were completed. It's best to view our current confloundering as just an administrative period to get back on track. There is currently no official due date for turn 15 at this time as we are waiting for everyone to receive their files.
I myself ran my MekHQ to the listed "due date" and am patiently waiting on that date until we are given the go ahead from there.
Keep up the good work Admin, we all love how much effort you put in for this!

hammeyaneggs, I am aware I do not have your turn 14 completed, same with one other person. I have been trying to work on VASSAL when I have some of their modding community or developers available to help with answering questions. I will likely finish your turn soon and use you as a guinea pig to test out the first player inputs to VASSAL. I worked 16 hours today and just got home, and teach in the same Grade 6 class tomorrow, but don't have to work at the restaurant till the end of the week. The same goes for my library and tutoring jobs. So I should have the next few evenings off to continue development.

Just as a heads up I have the Clan Map completed, have barely started the Mixed Map, have integrated the 3025 map players into the mixed map now, and in terms of counters just need to create the Joint Support Branches, and finish a small handful of infantry based counters.
Was working with one of the VASSAL module developers on troubleshooting and fixing some flaws I didn't know about. I have Friday mostly free so should be able to get us within spitting distance of finished.
In other news my local community and province has very recently started to get a doubling of community spread cases of COVID-19, so I expect after the current mad dash to stock up on food and people buying Christmas gifts early, I might be home more often.

-Ask players if there are any features they would like to see in game, perhaps I missed something?
-Finish creation of "Installation" unit counter sets as I neglected turrets thus far...I was working on player files when this dawned on me!
-Double check current unit counters for visual/naming errors (just Joint Support left) as I have found at least 10 or 15 so far while plugging counters into game, and it would have made me sad if things are not correct.
-Finish attaching all unit counters into game: Infantry, Joint Support, Installations and Armor (assault guns/mine layers left).
-Make sure "special" unannounced additions are working...
-Triple Check main code for errors and experiment with functions to check for breaks.
-Get players to test the hell out of the system with non-game files or test files. See what you can break.
-Ask players again if there are any features they would like to see in game, perhaps we all missed something until now?
-Setup Player files based off of last turn: 9 of 43 tentatively completed and ready.
-Finish TURN #15 with remaining two players using new system.
-Update rules
