I was wondering, if I purchase an artillery turret would it be possible for me to designate a map square they are located in and thus deploy them there before there's a battle in that square and the map is decided? For example let's say I purchase a Triple Cruise Missile 50 turret. Can I say I'm placing it in a given square and then have it began supporting battles within range with missile fire as soon as it arrives? If so, is there any limit on what squares are allowed to host pre-placed turrets?
It seems to me that thematically, something like artillery turrets would be intentionally constructed emplacements so they could be deployed even on squares without any urban terrain (just make sure when making the map should that square ever encounter a battle has enough building hexes so those units can be placed).

If admin approves this you would have to build a custom map so you’re able to emplace it on a building.
However, I have been denied placement in non urban/town terrain grids.

That's fine. I mean if the enemy is engaging in battle in, say, my capital square then things are already bad. My artillery turrets being in danger is the least of my worries! XD

I was planning on such turrets being only placed in map tiles that are City, Town, a deployment structure, or in an adjacent hex to one of those (ie: suburban areas). Although I supposed you could build a single structure to house them in other maps, but we might have to agree on costs for the structure (class, height, basements?, armor?, etc). Also as catfishkailen mentions you would need a custom map made to know precisely where you would put it prior to a battle.

Okay. Thank you for the clarification. Soon it will be time to rain (non-nuclear) ICBMs!

Don't forget about Time of Flight for cruise missiles. It's 1+number of maps / 5 if I remember correctly.
Really only good for stationary targets at long ranges.
