Hey guys. Me and my Techs are working on some repairs which require an "elite" skill level. These eBay cup holders barely fit into the cockpit. As they gain XP for different jobs, I can't find any information about their current progress and when they could reach the next level. Did I miss something? Thanks for the help

The last page of our empire spreadsheets has all the campaign settings for MekHq. About half way down is the relevant part for our techs, the 1 xp per 31 successful tasks. The experience tab in your campaign settings in MekHQ should be correct for the campaign rules, but it doesn't hurt to double check. It doesn't matter if a successful task is just patching up some minor armor damage or doing a miracle repair on a trashed fusion reactor, each successful task is worth the same 1/31st of an experience point.
That experience tab in the campaign settings also has the skill cost table and shows that each additional level of a technician skill cost 6 xp. So it will take 186 successful tasks for a technician to get enough xp to level up from veteran to elite. Also +5 is the maximum tech skill, so we don't have access to any sort of ultra-elite techs.
At this stage of the campaign it may be worth having a small group of techs that you use to make most of your repair rolls, that way you can get some techs to elite more quickly than if the success rolls were evenly divided between your techs.
For important tasks I have been using double or even quadruple time to reduce the chance of failure, since I don't yet have any elite techs to reattempt the repair if a veteran tech botches it. Generally those tasks that require an elite tech are because a veteran tech has already attempted the task and failed it. Also if you are repairing a unit at a deployment facility remember to set site to Maintenance Facility, which will have a lower chance of failure than the default transport bay site.
