A question I have is it possible to name a tile on the map such as naming towns and possibly mountains.
(Long wall of text incomeing TLDR:Sectors)
Something I can see a becoming a later issue on two front's is dividing the parts of my empire into chunks from a roleplay point of view and a strategic angle. Assuming Example nation #2 just invaded 8 tiles in one turn unless I run the population number I don't know how much income I've lost and if it's worth mustering my armies or just signing and peace deal and letting Example nation #2 keep the land.
So a idea I want to broadcast is dividing tiles into zones or sectors that can be renamed, they can be 10x10 or even 25x25 depending on what scale works best this would from a player point of few allow us to know which of our territory's are more valuable and how much money it brings in. While from a Admin point of view this could allow a more standard form of map generation with sectors having a minimum amount of buildings or terrain features while still retaining a degree of randomness.
This also could serve as a basis for more late game features like upgrading sectors or even make conquest of territory more strategic and less map painty.
(Do note I'm a utter beginner and just wanting to throw a idea out so feel free to critic me in the comments)

This is something that can be looked into further along as dividing your empire into sectors will help with overall management and to gauge how important areas are for you. This might influence or even create your strategy on the map.
For roleplay purposes it's definitely a bonus but something you could already do in a less official manner, but for the roleplay I find it more important that players themselves can create the sectors to how they see fit. For example, as the Coalition of Interdependent Municipalities (CIM) I might create sectors around towns and cities whilst a more militaristic empire might create sectors around unit production facilities or defensive lines.
What needs to be uniform would be how to implement it. If we all have different ways of creating and/or indicating sectors then the Admin would have to learn how 40ish people do it.
Suggestions are always welcome no matter your level of experience, a fresh take can lead to new solutions. I do think it might be a bit early for this in the sense that since expansion is still so rapid and the empires quite small it might not see much use.

The simplest way to do they is to make a set minimum and maximum on sector size and with pirates comeing in the next couple of turns sector defense forces will have to become a thing.

Note: The 1000x1000 map for ALL three "zones" (3025, Clan, Mixed) are entirely generated already with all "structures" permanently fixed (unless I need little tweaks). The population in each "map tile" however is done as we go along. I only need to increase map sizes if we get a large influx of people than perhaps 60 in any one zone.
I certainly can work on incorporating "sectors" in the future, but I will also make note again that I DO intend to release biome maps in the future so players know what the terrain is for each map tile, this might be useful for helping with "sector" generation as I don't think a block 5x5, 10x10 works well if it is part desert, part tropical forest, and half a large mountain range.
